I believe in a holistic approach to health. When we take care of our body and mind, we feel healthier and more balanced and inspired in life.The body and mind are interconnected, and as such I offer clients the opportunity to combine counselling and esthetic services to encourage both emotional and physical wellness. Counselling and esthetic services are also offered separately.
You have the choice to add aromatherapy to the counselling service. I believe that aromatherapy can have positive effects on your physical and emotional state. Counselling Practice outline
Life can be challenging at times. When we feel overwhelmed with what comes on our paths we may feel frustrated, depressed, irritated, anxious or even hopeless. Counselling can help empower you to set goals and develop more effective skills and coping strategies to create the strength you seek to help change your life. My goal is to help you improve your well-being in a safe, comfortable and supportive environment in which I treat you with respect, empathy and integrity.
I apply complementary psychotherapy approaches and techniques and I will use the approach(es) that suit(s) your needs best. These approaches include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), TEAM therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and Adlerian approaches. We will focus on the present rather than the past and explore your attitudes and responses to life’s stressful situations in a warm atmosphere; we will also use a goal-oriented approach to build your confidence to address your challenges and conquer your goals directly. You will be unconditionally accepted by me and I appreciate your perspective.
The concept behind CBT is that our thoughts affect the way we feel and behave. We will focus mainly on the here and now and will work together to better understand the challenges in your life. We will together identify the thoughts that may be contributing to the problems you experience in your life, set goals and empower you to develop more effective coping strategies and new adaptive beliefs that can help improve your well-being. I believe that homework assignments are a necessary part of the recovery process. In addition, relaxation exercises will most likely be part of therapy.
